| KARMOK 2012 / 4.43 min Location: Faroe Islands Karmok is an experimental short film that embraces and discovers movement through camera. The film is shot on Super8 in the extreme and wild landscapes of the remote Faroe Islands. Deprived from dialogues and narratives, the repetitive patterns of movements, costumes, music, landscapes and other components create an intriguing atmosphere that takes the viewer to a surrealistic yet hauntingly beautiful universe. | Rammatik is a Faroese film duo consisting of Rannvá Káradóttir and Marianna Mørkøre. With an experimental approach they have developed a distinctive movement vocabulary on screen, exploring dance in various contexts and cross disciplinary works. By challenging the traditional perception of moving image they have generated unique visual narratives in a series of exceptional short films, resulting in international awards and achievements. |
