| Water is the chemical substance with chemical formula H2O. About 70% of the earth's surface is covered with water. The human body contains up to 70% of water. Thirst is a sensation indicating the body’s need for water. Water cleans the body, and by extension, purifies it. Some faiths use water especially prepared for religious purposes (holy water in Christian denominations, amrita in Sikhismand Hinduism. The studies indicated that the main cause of death from drowning in fresh water is the explosive dilution of the blood with water from the lungs. Andrea (Kennedy) Yates was born on July 2, 1964 in Houston, Tex. In 2001 she drowned her five children. She told her jail psychiatrist: “It was the seventh daily sin. My children weren’t righteous. They stumbled because I was evil. The way I was raising them , they could never be saved. They were doomed to perish in the fires of hell.” |
